A few times over the past week, this song has come to mind. I haven’t posted in a while; however, I really love this song and want to share it again.

Sometimes you come to a point when you keep telling God (as much as yourself) that you just have to believe. That, yes, God is who He says He is, and that He has the power to above and beyond what you could ever imagine with your very human brain.

I know it baffles me at times, but I know He is real and true…and believe that He is able.

Another reason why I do not want to fly…

In a week that has provided a story about an undercover breach of the body scan system with a female agent passing through Dallas/Fort Worth multiple times, with a gun secured to her bra, I thought I’d highlight the following story about body scans leading to physical searches.

So, you take the body scan at the airport to avoid the body pat-down/search.

Only, you already know that the scan will show evidence of your past breast cancer treatments.

This has happened before, and you know that you will be required to submit to a search. What do you do?

Well, if you are Representative Sharon Cissna (D), from Alaska, you take a ferry.

An Alaska state lawmaker is making her way back to the state capital of Juneau after refusing what she called an invasive pat-down search at a Seattle airport.

Rep. Sharon Cissna, D-Anchorage, underwent a body scan as she was preparing to leave Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Sunday. In a statement released late Monday, she said scan results displayed – as they had during a prior episode three months earlier – the scars from her breast cancer.

This caught the attention of the Transportation Safety Administration, Cissna said, but she refused to submit to the “invasive, probing hands of a stranger” this time.

“Facing the agent I began to remember what my husband and I’d decided after the previous intensive physical search. That I never had to submit to that horror again!” she said. “It would be difficult, we agreed, but I had the choice to say no, this twisted policy did not have to be the price of flying to Juneau.”

While some people understand that the intensive pat-downs are a serious concern, there are some folks who get a giggle from the stories of people riled up about searches; however, think about it: What if you have been through a physical trauma or have been the victim of physical or sexual abuse/moslestation? Not a funny issue.

Making a list…

Since September, I ‘ve lost about 25 lbs…actually a tiny bit more.  It appears that God is blessing me, and I am trying my best to take advantage of what He is allowing to have happen after not losing any weight for a year.  Quite a depressing year, I might add.

Anyhoo, the past few weeks I’ve been letting myself think “what if” I do finally lose all of this weight.  It isn’t easy to allow myself to think about a thinner me.  It seems out of reach at times.  However, a girl can dream; God knows I’m a dreamer.

So, I’ve decided to make a list in my mind of things I’d like to do as I lose more weight and eventually hit my goal weight:

1.  Do a zip-line.  If you know me, that just made you laugh, because 1.  I’m afraid of heights, and 2.  I’m afraid of plummeting to the ground.

2.  Learn to ski.  I went skiing once when I was a teenager.  I should have taken lessons; I’ll leave it at that.  🙂

3.  Wear a slinky outfit to someplace nice.  I don’t get out much.  What can I say?

4.  I would love to go canoeing.  I used to love that when I was younger.  I was even stupid enough to cannonball off of a bridge at the end of an outing, one day.  Yes, I used to not be the ninny you now know.

5.  Go bowling.  I know that doesn’t sound like something I should be waiting to do, but I’m not sure anyone wants the rear-view of me bowling.  Just looking out for the innocent bystanders.

There are more elements to my list, but I’ll keep those private.

It’s a bird! No, it’s a drone.

Pretty soon, we will be able to witness the actuality of “someone” becoming a fly-on-the-wall.

As this video shows, there is now a hummingbird drone. Just like any form of technology over the years, the feasibility of smaller “containers” for the technology is becoming reality.

And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, in order that we might know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

All I can add to the scriptures I’ve provided and the message of the song below, is that there are things that I know to be true: the existence of God, that He hears my prayers–even when I can almost barely pray, and that He loves me beyond measure. Because of those truths, I must conclude that He will always be true to His word.
