Meg Whitman: Knucklehead

Just in case you thought the idiots only had (D) after their name . . .

Meg Whitman proved just how hard it is to get out of jury duty here in the Bay Area. The California Republican gubernatorial candidate reported for jury duty Monday at the Hall of Justice in Redwood City after she got the notice most of us dread.

She made it into a courtroom as part of an actual jury pool. When the judge asked if anyone had a scheduling issue or hardship that he should know about, Whitman piped up and said she was quite busy right now running for governor.

Good job, Meg. You have created the lamest excuse to get out of jury evah! She would have been better off using the Homer Simpson excuse, “The trick is to say you’re prejudiced against all races.”

Golfer’s game is truly on fire

Hey gang, Wyatt Earp here. Just filling in for a little bit as RT gets ready for school. Last I checked she was filling her mace canisters and fasting the dobermans. You can never be too careful.

So having said that, let’s begin. Note to President Obama: Golfing is dangerous to more than your reputation:

Forget “Fore!” “Fire!” was the cry of the day for a golfer whose off-target swing sparked a 12-acre blaze in Southern California. The golfer at the Shady Canyon Golf Course in Irvine landed a shot in the rough Saturday. On his next swing, his club snagged a rock, causing a spark that lit the rough ablaze and eventually attracted 150 firefighters to the scene.

Fire officials say the fire burned through the rough, into vegetation next to the course and over two dry, brushy hillsides.

Gotta wonder if he told his friends his game was “en fuego.”

Sunday Song

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Joshua 24:15
“If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Ever since this country has turned its back on God in the areas of education, faith–by way of false teachings, and via the principles by which we rule this country (that we’ve been so blessed to be given stewardship of), it has become a country of self-serving, greedy people not looking to love others, but looking only to fulfill their desires.

Despite all of this, God STILL wants us to have a realtionship with Him, so that He may be glorified. He wants us to be His sons and daughters, to love others as HE loves us.

If we turn our hearts and lives over to Him, He will do incredible things. He can improve our personal circumstances and those of our country and the global community. We need only look to the hands of “men” to see that they DO NOT have the answers, and that they cannot provide as God can.   Only God can get inside of us and work on our hearts.  Not one human can do that, as they don’t see our secret thoughts, dreams, fears, and motives.

How do we do that?  As individuals, we work on our relationship with God.  Collectively, we work together to help and love each other.

Look, change isn’t easy. I know from experience. I gave my life to God in 1992. There have been many times when I have been tempted to take the easier route in life. God never let go of me, and He has blessed me in extraordinary ways.

I want to see my unsaved friends and family in Heaven. I would love for them to see what amazing blessings God has for them.

I try not to be overly preachy on this posts, but you know what?  I care enough about you all to not care what other people think anymore.

It is my prayer this week that all of you, in some way, experience the reality of God and that it softens your hearts toward Him.

Love,

RT

A new Bible study

Some of you might or might not know that I have a Bible study blog. For a while, I posted mostly about the book of Esther. Beginning tomorrow, I’ll be studying the book of Ruth.

Ruth is not only a love story, but also a story about how God rewards faithfulness and the Bible’s call to care for those around us in a way that honors them, but most importantly honors  God.

I don’t post everyday, or every week for that matter. I do try to post a few times a month, though (aside from my summer hiatus).

So, if you are interested, you can click on the link for Faith and Fellowship on my blog roll.

Hope you all have a good day. 🙂

Obama went on vacation and all he got me was this stupid blog post.

C'mon guys, I'm trying to play golf. Stop asking questions. I'm on VACATION!

Obama is on vacation, but you knew that already.

As he was making a public appearance/photo op to get some shrimp and lobster, he was questioned about Iraq. He avoided the questions.

Since his shenanigans are nothing new, the purpose of me telling you about this article is because of the comments at the bottom of it.  Read them…they are hilarious.

I can’t wait to go back to work soon, so I can hear the silence.  You know, the folks I work with are very quiet when Barry isn’t doing his job well.

November will be even more fun.
