“Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”–Psalm 46:10
But those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.–Isaiah 40:31
Sometimes God answers prayers for desires and immediate needs for ourselves and others–within a brief time of asking for them. While forgiveness is immediate, the other “stuff” might have to wait a while…a long while…a what-seems-forever while.
As hard as it is to be patient, we have to, because when we are, we give God an opportunity to give us His best for us and not a cheap imitation. Waiting and the frustration of delays have benefits: God’s will fullfilled, in His time, as He sees fit.
That whole “be still” thing is tough, but God never disappoints. The end result is ALWAYS worth the wait.
