As I walked past a classroom, today, a teacher asked the students what the significance of today’s date is. Multiple students at one time stated the importance of the date was the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Some of our kids get it.
Many adults, sadly, do not.
When our country has been attacked in such a brutal way, it is our responsiblity, even generations later, to learn the necessary lessons in vigilence. We must never get so arrogant that we say, “It can’t happen here.”
We know all too well that it can.
Thank you to the men and women who sacrificed their dreams, innocence and lives on December 7, 1941.
