Nothing beats being loved…

a-acush2Call me a wuss, but I love stories like this.

Sixty years ago, high school sweethearts, Jack Ross and Win Cushman, went their separate ways and eventually married other people.

My heart breaks when I hear about those stories.  Afterall, love isn’t just something you fall in and out of at the drop of a hat.  So, imagine what it would be like after many decades, finding a lost-love.

In 2006, Ross, who had previously been married for 48 years, discovered an address for his long-lost love on the Internet and sent her a Christmas card. The address turned out to be wrong and the card was returned to him, but it turned out Cushman had arrived at the same thought and sent her own Christmas card to her childhood sweetheart.

Ross received the card and immediately re-initiated contact.

“He called, and I just about fainted away,” Cushman said. “I think the both of us went right back to the way it was in high school.”

The pair moved to Arizona together and they were married at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Peoria, Ariz.

Awwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!  Yes, it does bring a tear to my eye.  I feel sad when I see people, especially the elderly, alone.  Everyone should have someone.  We were created to love and be loved.  Gives me some hope.

  1. Every now and then a story like that comes out.
    Can’t help but smile.
Can you imagine the hours they could sit and talk about how their lives have fared over the years?
Definately a class “A” feel good story.
