At times I was asked to provide references for former employees by companies considering hiring them.

On one firm’s form was the question: “Was this person a steady worker?”

Since the guy was a well-known do-nothing, I entered, “Not just steady, but motionless” in the space provided.

It’s fun to cook for Tom. Today I made angel food cake. The recipe said beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbors were nice enough to loan me some extra bowls.

GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY. This has been a very exciting week! I am eager for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on Tom. If I can talk Tom into buying a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with a chocolate moose.

Bad Day and the Dwarf
I rear-ended a car this morning. I knew it was going to be a REALLY bad day. The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF!

He looked up at me and said, “I am NOT happy!”

So I said, “Well, which one ARE you then?”

That’s how the fight started.

Why doesn’t THIS ADVICE from a “government panel” surprise me????  Asses.

Last week, I had a Sunday Song all set to go, but because I was in a life-induced haze, I neglected to post it.  This week, I am going to post it, but I’m going to post it with a follow-up video, too.  Not a follow-up on the story, but on how God just gently (or sometimes, not-so-gently) keeps after us until we turn and face Him and accept Him and His love for us.

The post I had for last week centered on Lou Gramm, the former lead singer for Foreigner.  After years of excess, he gave himself to Christ.  As with any of us who walk on a path toward God and His ultimate goal for us, it is a long, sometimes winding path, filled with obstacles, sometimes ones of our own creation.  Within Gramm’s story and the stories of many others, though, we find redemption, fogiveness and mercy.

Several times this past week I was humbled by God’s reminders to me of how loving and merciful He has been to me, in my life.  It is one of the reasons why I do post these Sunday Songs.  I want you all to know that same love.  It is beyond the “love” people profess for each other.  No human can ever do what God can for you.

So here is part of last week’s intended post.  Following it is a song performed by Phillips, Craig and Dean.  It is a song that illustrates Christ’s love for us.

Man injured destroying fireworks

HOLLAND, Mich., Nov. 10 (UPI) — Authorities in Michigan said a 79-year-old man suffered cuts, abrasions and burns when he attempted to destroy old fireworks in a backyard fire pit.

Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies responding to a report of a fire on a roof in the area said they spotted the man near a fire pit late Sunday morning and a huge explosion followed that left the man injured, WWMT-TV, Kalamazoo, Mich., reported.

The man told investigators he was trying to destroy fireworks in the pit.

Deputies told the Holland (Mich.) Sentinel the Michigan Bomb Squad was called in dispose of the remaining fireworks.

Prosecutors said they are reviewing possible charges against the man.

I had a Sunday Song all ready to go, but I was too zonked to post it.  I’ve been having fatigue issues since I got my flu shot.  Then…well, there was a ton of grading to do.  While I know that was hyperbole, I did have a lot of grading to catch up on (see fatigue issue).

So, as of last night, I was caught up.

Someday I’ll post that I’ve been to busy having a  fun social life, but until then, it is just grading, planning, hitting the gym, and cleaning.

I know you all can relate.
