I’M WATCHING IT AND I STILL DON’T BELIEVE IT!
How can you not feel good for Brad Lidge. He basically lost the NLCS for the Astros by himself two years ago. This year, no blown saves, and a world championship. Congrats Phillies.
They gave him to us basically saying, “He’s washed up…good luck with that,” and man, what a way to redeem himself!
I have tears in my eyes.
I remember watching last one when I was 12. I went to school with one of the sons of a Phillie when that happened. He described in detail the emotional drain and what it took to go through the playoffs. It is more crazy intense than we could ever imagine.
I just can’t believe it. Every year, we hope. Every year there are glimmers of greatness from our teams. Sometimes, they break our hearts….25 years of broken hearts. Trips to the finals in every sport, and nothing.
Dammit….I’m getting emotional.
(I just hope the idiots in the street don’t hurt each other or the officers.)
Congrats!!!! I hope you are celebrating this big next Tuesday!!!
Trust me, I’ve thought about the state of our country in 1980 and what happened that fall. Maybe this is symbolic. One can only hope. (I gag when I use that word, now.)
It’s time for a lot of healing.
Yeah!!
Guess that it finally stopped raining then? Well at least you all have something to be cheerful about – just go easy on the celebrating!
well crap.
Congrats to the Phillies! (I was actually rooting for them!)
Talking about the Phillies and the 80′s: While I consider myself a yankees fan. I’ve always liked the blue collaredness (is that a word) of the Phillies. Two of my favorite players when I was growing up were Lenny Dykstra, and John Kruk.
John Kruk: Hell lady, I ain’t no athelete, I’m a baseball player.

WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!
DBA
That’s pretty normal weather for us, except that it happens off and on during the winter (maybe two or three times). I cannot tell you how much this means to the fans of Philadelphia sports. I haven’t stopped smiling and I get choked up when I think about it.

Nanner!
Snigs
Well, thank you.

John Kruk was/is hilarious! I always liked him, too. His era certainly had its characters, that’s for sure.
